Dr. Talya ten Brink is the GIS Coordinator for the Greater Atlantic Region of NOAA Fisheries and head of the Greater Atlantic Region GIS Lab. She creates, monitors, and communicates NOAA Fisheries data and research, and performs analyses and conducts marine geospatial research. She is a social scientist and geospatial specialist who is currently publishing on marine protected areas, fisheries and offshore wind.

She has worked in the environmental field in consulting, academic, non-profit, and government sectors, and has received 12+ awards for her work. Dr. ten Brink holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island, a Master’s of Science in Urbanism from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, and a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Washington, Seattle.
