Mastering Healthcare Simulation

Program Overview

This immersive, in-person training program, presented in partnership with the URI College of Nursing, provides a comprehensive foundation in healthcare simulation, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to design, facilitate, and
evaluate high-quality simulation-based education.
Over 7 weeks, participants will explore key topics such as learning theory, scenario design, pre-briefing, debriefing, and simulation operations—including manikins, virtual reality, and standardized patients. Participants will also dive into research, special projects, and professional development pathways like CHSOS and CHSE certification.

Cost: $3,000/participant. A processing fee of $82.50 will apply for payments made with credit card.

Customization and Flexibility

The program is intended for any nurse, healthcare worker, or faculty member who is interested in developing or working in a simulation program. This would be applicable to educators in academia or healthcare facilities, preceptors, mentors, or staff nurses who are interested in learning more about this teaching pedagogy.

Whether you are new to simulation or looking to refine your skills, this program will

As this is a hands-on, skills-based program, it is delivered in-person over 7 weeks at the Rhode Island Nursing Education Center in Providence, Rhode Island. 

Program Implementation

  • Through hands-on activities, assessments, and expert-led instruction, you’ll gain the
    expertise needed to enhance learning, improve patient outcomes, and drive innovation
    in healthcare simulation.
  • There will be some asynchronous (self-paced) online work assigned in between in-person meetings.
