Dual Enrollment
Overview
The URI Dual Enrollment Program offers HS students the opportunity to enroll in college-level courses at URI as a part time non-matriculating student. It is not admission to URI.
The State of Rhode Island covers the cost for public high school students to dual enroll in on-campus courses—up to 11 credits per semester—during the fall and spring terms only. Course costs for private school and homeschooled students are not covered under this state-funded program.
Program Change for Spring 2025
Due to budgetary constraints, the State of Rhode Island will not subsidize the costs for dual enrollment for the Spring 2025 semester for any students who were not dual enrolled at URI prior to December 17th.
Textbooks and/or other course materials are covered by the student’s school district.
