Collaborators

Nicole Weiss, Ph.D.

Dr. Weiss is co-Principal Investigator on Native HEALTH and a frequent collaborator with the PATHS Lab. She is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Rhode Island (URI) and Director of the Study of Trauma, Risk-taking, Emotions, and Stress Symptoms (STRESS) Lab. Her research focuses on the co-occurrence of PTSD and risky, self-destructive, and health-compromising behaviors, with an emphasis on substance use disorder (SUD).

Lindsay M. Orchowski, Ph.D.

​Dr. Orchowski is a frequent collaborator with the PATHS Lab. She is an Associate Professor (research) of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. Her research interests include alcohol use, sexual assault, and trauma.

Christopher W. Kahler, Ph.D.

Dr. Kahler is a collaborating researcher on Native PATHS. He is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences in the Brown University School of Public Health and an Associate Director of the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies. His research interests include alcohol use, alcohol and smoking, mutual help programs, smoking cessation, and HIV care.

Joseph P. Gone, Ph.D.

Dr. Gone is collaborating with the PATHS Lab on Native HEALTH. He is a Professor in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (Anthropology) and the Faculty of Medicine (Global Health and Social Medicine) at Harvard University. His area of research includes indigenous peoples of the US and Canada, community wellbeing, and culture ad colonial mental health.

Roland S. Moore, Ph.D.

Dr. Moore is collaborating with the PATHS Lab on Native HEALTH. He is a Center Director and Senior Research Scientist at the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE). His research interests include mixed-method evaluations of community level prevention of underage drinking, tobacco and other drug use on and around California Tribal lands.

James G. Murphy, Ph.D.

Dr. Murphy is a collaborator on Native PATHS. He is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Memphis and the Director of the Health Addiction and Behavioral Intervention Team (HABIT) Lab. His research interests include addictive behavior, behavioral models and decision-making in addictive behaviors, behavior change, and brief interventions with young adults.
