Workshops and Lectures
We have developed two educational workshops on biotechnology:
- Agriculture, Biotechnology, and GMOs: Informing the Debate
- Pharmaceutical Biotechnology: Bridging the Education Gap in the Post-Genomics Era
One titled Agriculture, Biotechnology, and GMOs: Informing the Debate is an Agricultural Biotechnology Workshop meant to describe the technology of agriculre biotechnology applications (including GMOs) and some of its issues and controversies.Workshop Materials
Part I. Where Does Our Food Come From?
Part II DNA-based Biotechnology And Modern Agriculture
Part IIIa. Setting the Stage about Food and Agriculture
Part IIIb. Issues, Controversies and Concerns
Part IIIc. The Organic Food Debate
Part IV. The Ethics of Agriculture
Part V. Renewable Energy and the Future of Humanity.
Another workshop is titled Pharmaceutical Biotechnology: Bridging the Education Gap in the Post-Genomics Era. This workshop addresses many of the current topics in pharmaceutical biotechnology which has now reached an exponential growth phase, growing much faster than society can assimilate it or its implications, with many misconceptions affecting public health.
These intensive modular workshops can be self taught using the online materials at the lifeedu.us website at the viewers own pace, or through the attached workshop materials.
It can also be presented live by Dr. Albert Kausch (on request). The Workshop live is best accomplished over a 3-5 day period.
