URI DPT students Karl Busch, Erin Johnson, and Nicole Waskiewicz participated in the 4th Annual College of Human Science and Services Research Night held on May 3rd, 2016. Nicole and Karl performed their research under the guidance of Dr. Pete Blanpied. Their research, also performed with fellow DPT students Laura Menzer, Paige Madison, Kyle LoPresti, and Peter Dionisopoulos was titled “Inter-examiner Agreement of Infraspinatus Trigger Point Identification Using Manual and Ultrasound Imaging. Seen here is Erin Johnson, explaining her work to Dr. Bryan Blissmer, Kinesiology faculty member and Interim Director of the Institute for Integrative Health and Innovation. Erin’s work, titled “Efficacy of a Community Taught Aquatic Therapy Program for Patients with Parkinson’s Disease” was performed with fellow DPT students Mike Bisconti, Whitney Harris and Geoff Phanuef and supervised by faculty research advisors Dr. Janice Hulme and Dr. Anne Marie Dupre.
