Why did you decide to work in Physical Therapy?
I wanted to be the person that helped give others a piece of their life back. Whether that is returning an athlete to their sport, helping a grandparent to pick up their grandkid, or simply helping someone be able to return to living in their home. I wanted to be a part of the process where people regained a part of who they are.

What attracted you to the URI DPT program?
I did the 3-3 program where I was able to complete my undergraduate classes in 3 years, and then start my graduate work early. This was a major factor in why I came to URI. I also loved the small, intimate class size where you really get to know everyone personally.

What is your favorite part about being in the DPT program?
The people have made all the difference. From meeting new friends to having professors that genuinely care about my education, everyone I have met has had an impact.

How would you describe your clinical experience at URI?
Eclectic: I have been in all sort of settings, from pediatrics, sports outpatient, to acute care, which has given me a well rounded experience and greater knowledge about the different options I have as a PT.

What would your advice be to anyone interested in joining the program?
Get involved in as many PT-related activities as you can before coming to school to get some experience. You can do Special Olympics, work as an aid, shadow at the program for a day, etc.

What are your prior degree(s) in?
B.S Kinesiology

What is your plan after graduation?
I am still not entirely sure what setting I want to work in; I am hoping that my full time clinicals will help to guide me in the right direction. All I do know is that I want to get certified in dry needling!
