Anne’s Advice: Take your time! Building an application doesn’t happen overnight and requires years of being proactive, discovering new experiences and growing up. Luckily, URI has the opportunities and support needed to do so while simultaneously having fun. For me, the best thing I did for myself as a med school candidate, and as a person in general, was enrolling in the international engineering program, through which I combined science and technology with humanities and spent a year abroad. During that time, I found opportunities to study, work, volunteer, and teach. Without these opportunities, I would not have had the substance necessary to apply, succeed in an interview, and gain admission.
