Jordan’s Advice: Try your best to avoid comparing yourself to other applicants! Different applicants need different MCAT scores, different GPAs, and different work/school experience in order to be accepted into medical school. Every applicant has their own special traits and reasons for pursuing medicine. Take time to learn about yourself in college and during gap years. Spend time doing activities that you enjoy on the weekends and during school breaks. Interviews and personal statements are the medical schools’ opportunity to learn about your personality and values. If you don’t know who you are when applying to medical schools, neither will they!
