After graduating: Medical scribe for Brown Emergency Medicine, staffed at Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, Hasbro Children’s Hospital and Women and Infants Hospital; Research assistant, Department of Medicine at Women and Infants Hospital.

What advice do you have to incoming Pre-Health students?

My advice to any pre health students coming to or at URI is that it is possible! Although the road to medical and other health professional schools can appear distant and impossible to achieve, with the right mindset and support you can get there. Explore your interests, create goals for yourself, stay focused and keep in consistent contact with your mentors/advisors.  Also, don’t forget to look after yourself. I know that it seems like there isn’t enough time to do so given the workload but you can not serve others if you’re not serving yourself. Take time for yourself when you can to do the things you enjoy most!

How was Pre-Health a service to you?

Pre-health [advising]’s input on my pre medical journey has been invaluable. They helped with extensive advising on the medical school application process, presented me with many pre-health opportunities (research, talks, etc.) and really got to know me better to speak to me and my medical school candidacy for my applications. I cannot thank the pre health program enough for all of the guidance they have provided, which has assisted me in getting to where I am today in my journey of becoming a doctor!
