Milleah’s Advice: Please be patient and kind to yourself. The pathway to medical school looks different for everyone and it can be easy to compare your journey to others. What is important is that you create your own journey. Find your interests, step out of your comfort zone, and utilize the support and opportunities that URI has to offer. Try to figure out who you are and how you will stand out as a future physician. Admission committees at medical schools are seeking a group of students with a diverse background, and you have the power to decide what this is. In the meantime, do not lose balance over your roles outside of being a pre-health student. This management will serve you well as you continue the challenging, yet exciting pathway as a health care provider. Best of luck!
