Chandler Lemay ‘17, a health Studies major from Narragansett, RI spent last in Ireland where she lived in Cork and attended the University College Cork. According to Chandler, “the best part of studying abroad was that every day was an adventure and there was always something new to explore. It was an amazing experience to get outside my comfort zone and truly grow as a student not only individually but academically too. You meet so many incredible students from all over the world and each encounter you have you learn something new.”
Chandler’s studies in health services helped her gain an in-depth understanding of the Irish healthcare system and to compare and contrast it to the US system. In addition, Chandler’s semester abroad provided her with “new perspective on communicating with others who have different background and to understand and appreciate cultural differences.”
Chandler is excited to be back at URI, and is looking forward to a great semester.
