URI Public Health welcomes new faculty member, Dr. Molly Richard

The Public Health Department is pleased to welcome Dr. Molly Richard to our group of esteemed faculty this Fall! Dr. Richard comes to us from Boston University with a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University’s Community Research and Action Department.

Molly Richard is a community-engaged researcher focused on homelessness, housing, and the social determinants of health. Dr. Richard’s interdisciplinary research uses quantitative and qualitative methods to examine the systems that drive and sustain homelessness and to identify effective policy solutions. Molly’s research aims to advance equity in housing and health by informing homelessness response strategies at local, state, and national levels, as well as broader housing, health, and social welfare policy.

Dr. Richard also serves as Director of Applied Learning for URI’s Master of Public Health Program, integrating action-oriented research and teaching to prepare students for public health practice. We are very excited to have such an important member of the Public Health community joining our department. Please help us in making her feel like a part of the URI community!
