Masters in Public Health
Learning Outcomes
Graduates of this program will be professionals prepared to promote health equity and reduce health disparities locally, nationally, and globally. They will be trained as researchers who investigate variables that lead to health disparities in order to create models and strategies to solve current and emerging health issues.
Specific program learning outcomes:
- Develop an intersectional framework to understand the complex interplay of social determinants of health and how they intersect to contribute to health disparities.
- Design strategic plans that operationalize intersectional frameworks to effectively target and reduce health disparities
- Utilize project management tools to ensure intervention fidelity for public health program evaluation.
- Develop qualitative and qualitative research tools needed to be able to evaluate the impact of public health programs
- Identify, analyze and evaluate grant funding opportunities and mechanisms.
- Develop grant writing skills by completing a comprehensive grant application adhering to the guidelines and requirements of a funding agency.
