In addition to fulfilling all the basic requirements for a minor (see Minor Fields of Study), students who declare a minor in public health must complete the following requirements:
- Requirements include 20 credits.
- All courses must be taken for a grade, and an average grade of 2.00, unless otherwise specified (e.g., HLT 201, 300, and 450 require a grade of “C” or better, in line with the minimum grade requirements for the major).
- To declare this minor, a student must have the approval of a program advisor (Public Health faculty) and an academic advisor.
- 4 Core Courses: HLT 101, HLT 201, HLT 300 (4 credits), and PHP 405 (4 credits).
- Electives – Select 2 courses from the following: HLT 312, HLT 313, HLT 320, HLT 350, HLT 360, HLT 400, HLT 401, HLT 450; PHP 201; NUT 212G (prerequisite NUT 207)
- Other public health-related courses, such as courses in the MPH program, may be used to fulfill minor requirements with approval from the Department Chair.
