There are several reasons as to why I chose to come to URI! The biggest reason was being accepted into the Talent Development program that made me part of a community of people with similar backgrounds as me while also opening the door for endless opportunities. I was also fascinated by all the different STEM majors that could allow me to work in the healthcare field one day.

Linda Tran ’22

I began my journey at URI after completing the early Talent Development summer success program in 2018. Choosing URI has been one of the best choices I’ve made financially and since it was an in-state school, I wasn’t too far from home.

Jayna Wallus ’21

I chose the University of Rhode Island due to their dedication to students, high quality programs, and of course the beautiful campus.  As soon as I stepped foot on campus it was clear that this was the right choice for me. The faculty care for their students and want to see each student succeed in their goals and future careers. That was very apparent from my first visit to campus.

Gina Miranda ’20

The day I set foot on URI’s campus, I felt like I was home. There was a familial feel when I came and I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself, a part of something that would enhance me to the person I am today. URI showed me what I could do and it had all of what I needed to grow and be successful.

Maddie O’Neill ’20

I first chose URI because I was looking for a smaller state university and I also wanted to stay relatively close to home. The fact that it was practically on the beach definitely aided in that decision! It was after my first tour that I could fully see myself fitting in with the campus’ dynamic. Everyone was so helpful and relaxed; I was comfortable almost instantly!

Julia McIlmail ’20

I chose URI because I knew that it would provide me opportunities to work alongside professionals in my field. I wanted to be able to learn outside of the classroom, and with the time and resources URI is allocating to its science and health programs I knew it was the right choice.
