CLASSROOM SCHEDULING GUIDELINES
We do our best to satisfy all faculty requests for general assignment classrooms and meeting times. Due to a limited number of general assignment rooms, we often receive multiple requests for specific rooms/times. In those cases, we use the guidelines below to prioritize requests. If necessary, department chairs or academic deans will be asked to assist in prioritizing.
- Your department must maximize utilization of its own classroom space before submitting requests for general assignment classrooms
- Meeting the instructional/special (programmatic) needs of the faculty will receive highest priority. This includes technology in the classroom and the frequency of its use, accommodations for an instructor’s documented disability certified by the ADA coordinator, the proximity of the classroom to a laboratory or to special materials used during instruction, and special program needs.
- To ensure that classroom space is used efficiently so that all may benefit, classes adhering to standard time frames will be scheduled before non-standard requests.
