Enrollment Services works closely with the Provost Office and individual colleges and departments to build the schedule of classes. Individual departments are ultimately responsible for ensuring Enrollment Services receives an accurate schedule of classes, including class meeting times and instructors.
CALL FOR COURSES
The Fall “Call for Courses” is due to enrollment services from the Colleges in the third week of November annually. Notification will be sent directly to Deans, Department Chairs and Area Coordinators well in advance of the deadline.
The Spring “Call for Courses” is due to enrollment services from the Colleges in the first week of May annually. Notification will be sent directly to Deans, Department Chairs and Area Coordinators well in advance of the deadline.
All faculty are expected to review their class schedules in the week prior to the start of the semester or term. This includes Fall, Spring, J-Term and Summer as well as URI Online offerings. This is to ensure accuracy and allow ES to make any updates before classes begin. Special attention should be given to variable credit courses to ensure students are enrolling in the proper number of credits.
DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING COMMUNITIES FOR NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION
The Fannon Institute begins this process in December for the upcoming Fall Orientation sessions in June.
100 and 200 level courses will be closed to enrollment for New Student Orientation in mid-May each year. 100 and 200 level courses will reopen for enrollment during the first week of July each year.
EARLY REGISTRATION
Approved groups will be notified directly by Enrollment Services regarding deadlines.
