Facility Access

The CBRC security system secures all animal facilities. All CBRC staff and research personnel are required to have their ID cards activated for CBRC access.

Access to all animal facilities is tightly controlled via card readers and/or physical keys. The following tasks must be completed in order to secure access to the animal facilities:

  1. Enrollment in the Research Occupational Health Program.
  2. Completion of all required CITI online training and EHS training, if applicable.
  3. Attendance at a monthly CBRC Facility Orientation and Tour. Contact Gwen Currier at gwencurrier@uri.edu to register.
  4. Amendment of the relevant IACUC protocol(s) to include the new personnel.

Once these tasks are complete, email Gwen Currier at gwencurrier@uri.edu with the following information:

  1. Name, department, and project PI
  2. AN# of IACUC protocol(s)
  3. Building location(s) to which access is required 

Once the Facility Orientation, Research Occupational Health and IACUC approval are confirmed, ORI will activate the card.
