Completing Courses

Available courses are listed on the landing page. Courses are classified as “Active” (i.e., in progress), “Courses Ready to Begin,” and “Completed Courses.”

  • Click the “Continue Course” button to continue a course that is currently in progress.
  • Click the “Start Now” button to begin a course.
  • Click the “Review Course” button to review the content of a completed course.

Courses generally take from 30 minutes – 3 hours to complete. Courses need not be completed in one sitting.

When you have completed all the required modules successfully, you will be able to save a copy of your completion certificate. Please retain a copy of the certificate for your records. You can also access your completion certificate by clicking the “View – Print – Share Record” button for any completed course.

Note: CITI course completions are integrated into the InfoEd system automatically, so you will not need to upload your completion certificates. CITI course completions are not integrated into IRBNet, so you will be required to upload your CITI completion certificate with every protocol submitted on IRBNet.

Adding New Courses

Enroll in a course by clicking the link in the table above. Alternatively, follow these instructions after logging in to your CITI account:

  1. At the bottom of the landing page under “Learner Tools for University of Rhode Island” click “Add a Course.” On this page you will be presented with all the modules available through CITI.
  2. Scroll through the questions and choose the modules that fit your specific needs.
Press “Submit” when done selecting courses.

Note: Choosing a module does not mean you necessarily have to complete it. It will only make these modules available for completion. See the top of this page for course requirements.
