The Rhody Esports Coalition (REC) is a collaboration group with members across academics, IT and student interest groups, partnering to implement an esports computer lab in the Memorial Student Union where both the student esports club or other student interest groups can participate in competitive esporting. Together the team has been working on research, data collection, partnership building, proposal writing, and pursuing potential funding pathways. REC meets every three weeks during the academic year.

Recent Coalition Actions:

The Rhody Esports Coalition (REC) met on October 25, 2024. Discussions focused on establishing a PC replacement cycle for the eLab, expediting the software request and approval process, engaging potential new faculty supporters and partners, and identifying funding pathways to support the long-term sustainability of the space. Action items were assigned to team members to address ahead of the next REC meeting in late November.
