Students’ Career Success in Biomedical Industries
RI-INBRE’s goal is to support junior faculty and train students
Our student training program has been particularly successful with training 1,685 undergraduate students, 234 graduate students, and 56 postdoctoral fellows, as of the fall of 2022. Tracking their progress helps us measure our success and we currently have career data for 563 former RI-INBRE undergraduates, with 417 currently employed in biomedical fields. The students’ jobs include a range of positions from industry research scientists to entrepreneurs, professors, and medical professionals. Many of these skilled and talented former trainees remain in the Northeast, mostly in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The RI-INBRE program has had a significant effect on helping develop our regional biomedical workforce.
