We recently hired the RI-INBRE Faculty Scholar, a tenure-track College of Pharmacy at URI. Dr. Kaitlin Dailey, a Research Instructor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, will join as an RI-INBRE Faculty Scholar in August 2025. Establishing the RI-INBRE Faculty Scholar position is a three-way collaboration between the URI Provost Office, the College of Pharmacy, and RI-INBRE. The RI-INBRE Scholar position is innovative and proactive on our part, taking advantage of the biomedical capacity building in RI over the two decades of INBRE funding. This newly created tenure-track position was designed to strategically recruit an investigator with expertise in biomarkers, biologics, and antibody research to Rhode Island. Dr. Dailey’s work focuses on developing modified Clostridium novyi-NT as an intravenously delivered metastatic pancreatic cancer therapeutic with the potential for efficacy against a broad spectrum of solid tumors. She has an excellent publication and grant record, and we are looking forward to welcoming her to URI and the RI-INBRE network. You can learn more about Dr. Dailey and her lab at kmdaileylab.org
