Academic Year Opportunities: Academic year research opportunities are available for undergraduate students enrolled at Bryant University, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, and Salve Regina University.
STAR at Network Institutions: The STAR (Student Training and Research) program provides a paid summer research experience, where students will work on a research project mentored by a faculty member. At the end of the program, students present their research at the Annual Rhode Island Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium.
Eligibility: STAR opportunities are available in numerous laboratories at Bryant University, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, and Salve Regina University. Only students enrolled at those institutions are eligible for the SURF program at those institutions.
How to Apply: To enroll in the program, students should contact a laboratory that they are interested in working with. If you don’t know where to start, contact us at riinbresurf@uri.edu.
Important Dates: The Annual STAR program will generally run from mid-May to the end of July. Check with your undergraduate intuition about the deadline for applying and the specific dates.
