Research
Elisabeth Arevalo is interested in many aspects of evolutionary biology, including phylogenetics, speciation, and social evolution. She has combined field observations and molecular techniques to address questions in a phylogenetic framework. She used lizards and wasps as model organisms and has worked on the phylogenetics and molecular evolution of these model organisms, and more recently on the reproduction of social wasps, contrasting the biology and social structure of tropical vs. temperate species.
