The Rhode Island Transportation Research Lab (RITRL) conducts interdisciplinary studies in the areas of intelligent transportation infrastructure and systems. Research efforts cover all modes of transportation by land, rail, air and sea.

The Lab (RITRL) was established in 1992 and conducted interdisciplinary studies in the areas of intelligent transportation infrastructure and systems (ITIS). We also undertake several intermodal transportation projects.

Research

Research teams have a special interest in developing next-generation transportation materials such as high-performing asphalts, concretes, composites, steel, soils, and pavement marking materials, etc. We also work on Intelligent Transportation Infrastructure and Systems (ITIS).
