Biography
Captain Brandon Henderson was born in Powhatan, Virginia. He joined the Army in February 2009 and enrolled in Norfolk State University. During his college career he contracted with the Army ROTC program. While in the program he received a ROTC National Scholarship.
Upon graduation and commissioning in July 2012, CPT. Henderson entered into the Army Reserves and branched Quartermaster. In October 2012 CPT Henderson attended (BOLC) Basic Officer Leadership to February 2013.
CPT Henderson Army Reserves assignments include PL (Platoon Leader) with the 849th Quartermaster Company out of Rocky Mount, NC from October 2012 to December 2016. In Jan 2017 he served as a Company Commander of 849th Quartermaster and he also joined the Richmond Police Department in Richmond, VA during this time.
CPT Henderson was deployed to Afghanistan in Sept 2019 and was a Detachment commander as a 1LT with the 894th QM Company out of Jackson, Mississippi. He was assigned 18 92F to sustain fuel missions throughout Afghanistan. Upon his return from deployment he became the assistant S4 for the 94th Training Division out of Fort Lee, VA. While assigned to the 94th TNG DIV he attended and completed the Captain Career Course at Fort Lee, VA.
CPT Henderson has spent the last eight years in Law Enforcement where he has held positions from Patrol Officer to Sheriff’s deputy. He has been a part of SRT (Special Respond Team), K9 Unit, FTO (Field training officer), General Instructor and Fire Arms Instructor.
CPT Henderson’s awards include the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Bronze Star Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and NATO Non-Article 5 Medal for ISAF Afghanistan, Reserve Components Achievement Medal and Basic Parachutist Badge.
CPT Henderson is currently serving at the University of Rhode Island as an Assistant Professor of Military Science, where he instructs MS1’s.CPT. Henderson has a daughter Brailynn who is 10 years old.
