Captain William Robertson

Biography

CPT William R. Robertson was born in Portland, Oregon. He enlisted in the United States Army on 10FEB2012 with the Tennessee National Guard. He served as a Cadet in the Simultaneous Membership Program, completing Basic Combat Training in the summer of 2012. He graduated from Western Kentucky University, and commissioned from ROTC in May of 2015. CPT Robertson began his Army career as a Signal Platoon Leader for six months before becoming a Heavy Construction Platoon Leader in Alpha Company, 52nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado. While serving as a Platoon Leader he trained his platoon through various company, battalion, and brigade field training exercises culminating in a Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) rotation at Fort Polk, Louisiana in 2017. Following his time as a Platoon Leader, he served seven months as the Executive Officer in the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 52nd Brigade Engineer Battalion. He then attended the Engineer Captains Career Course from October of 2018 to April of 2019.

CPT Robertson was then assigned to the Division Engineer section at 3rd Infantry Division Headquarters, Fort Stewart, Georgia where he worked as an Operations Officer from May 2019 to June 2020. He then served as the Battalion Training OIC and Future Operations Officer at the 92 nd Engineer Battalion, 20 th Engineer Brigade at Fort Stewart, GA. Following Battalion staff time he served as the Company Commander of the 526 th Engineer Construction Company from
12AUG21 to 15JUN23. There he was in charge of over 200 Soldiers and completed a
successful 2-year PTDO DCRF mission to respond to real world disasters and provide urban search and rescue capabilities in a CBRN environment, while simultaneously providing engineer support to the LSCO fight. CPT Robertson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography.

CPT Robertson’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.
CPT Robertson is married to Ami-Jordan Robertson and they have two beautiful sons, Declan and Canaan.

CPT Robertson currently serves as the APMS at the University of Rhode Island ROTC program, he additionally plans to pursue a Graduate Degree in Oceanography while assigned.
