The minor in Anthropology requires a minimum of 18 credits, 12 of which must be from courses at the 200 level above.
There are no specific course requirements, but we encourage students to follow the suggestions outlined below. (A minor with some focus is more beneficial to you than a mere collection of 18 credits.)
Suggested Courses
Take at least two, if not three, of the introductory courses:
- APG 200: Language and Culture
- APG 201: Human Origins and Evolution
- APG 202: Introduction to Archaeology
- APG 203: Cultural Anthropology
We also recommend a solid foundation in the four fields of anthropology: archaeology, cultural anthropology, physical anthropology, and anthropological linguistics. A good mix of courses in these fields will create breadth and depth in your understanding of the anthropological approach to the world.
