Biography

Christine Zozula is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and holds a joint appointment with the Criminology and Criminal Justice Program. She researches punishment, crime, and culture. Her book, Courting the Community: Legitimacy and Punishment in a Community Court (Temple University Press, 2019) describes how community courts legitimize increased criminal justice social control under the banners of rehabilitation and community well-being.
