Jennifer Hodshon, M.P.H.

Biography

Jen Hodshon is the Director of Health Services at the University of Rhode Island, where she has served since July 2016. She holds a master’s degree in public health from New York Medical College in Valhalla New York as well as a Certificate in Organizational behavior from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island.

She oversees several departments in Health Services including Health Information Management, Pharmacy, Laboratory, X-ray, Health Promotion, Information Technology, Insurance and Billing, Purchasing, Health Promotion and Wellness and Custodial Services. Jen served as the Assistant Director of Health Services at Brown University for 18 years.

Currently, Jen is a member of the national affiliation, The American College Health Association (ACHA) and serves on the planning board for the local affiliate, The New England College Health Association (NECHA), where she recently was honored with the Presidential Award, highest honor.

Jen is also active professionally, having presented on topics including Advanced Access, Administrative Hot topics and just recently, a Campus Response to a Pandemic. She has also served as the Chair of the Tri State Consortium for the last 10 years. This committee, comprised of student health directors from CT, RI and Mass have been in existence for more than 25 years and meet quarterly to discuss relevant issues in health care as well as welcome guest speakers from the RI Department of Health, to speak on topics such as covid response and mitigation, immunizations, STIs and Pep/Prep.

Jen is the proud mother of 2 amazing children, both of whom graduated from the University of Rhode Island.
