Welcome Week

An extended week of activities before the start of the fall semester, Welcome Week is sponsored by a number of student organizations and open to all students. Past activities have included outdoor movies on the Quad, comedy shows, trips sponsored by Rhody Adventures, and dances sponsored by student organizations.

RhodyFest

RhodyFest is an exciting welcome for all incoming first-year students, complete with plenty of free food and activities. Many student organizations are on hand to welcome the new students, giving them the opportunity to learn more about student groups and activities.

Family Weekend

A fall weekend with activities on campus for URI students and families to enjoy. The weekend’s highlights include Rhody football, a post-game reception, and a featured entertainment event Saturday night. Learn more »

Winter Fest

During this week-long series of events held in early December, the Student Entertainment Committee sponsors a variety of daytime and evening programs, including a major concert featuring a comedian or musical performance.

Spring Fest

A week of activities in April sponsored by the Student Entertainment Committee, Spring Fest includes caricature artists, the one ton sundae, a lobster bake, and evening entertainment featuring comedians and a major concert.

Greek Week

A week-long tradition of competitions between teams of fraternity and sorority members held in April, Greek Week includes a lip-sync contest, dance contest, Mr. and Mrs. Greek, and Greek Sing. All money raised during Greek Week is donated to a selected charity.

Oozeball

This renowned annual volleyball game in the mud is a major URI tradition! Check out the Student Alumni Association’s webpage for more details on this crazy day of fun in the mud!

Rainville Awards

This annual event recognizes URI’s top student leaders, employees, and organizational teams. It’s always a great night that includes a dinner, awards, and slide show.
