DISCUSSION:

TOPIC 1: DOC Sardihna and Chair Morabito went to talk to the OMBUDs

  • OMBUD coming to public forum during late October or early November
  • They have no idea what Academic Affairs or Senate does
  • Confused but happy that we also get academic complaints
  • Want to reach out the name of the OMBUD to HRL and more
  • No one really knows what they OMBUD does
  • There are there for “if people have been treated unfairly”
  • They are looking into the programs Early Alert and Anchor
  • Their office is in Roosevelt at 138A

TOPIC 2: Indigenous People’s Day

  • Meet with director of MSSC to discuss
  • He thinks it may be a losing fight
  • Might send president Adriana with questions about indigenous people’s day during her meeting with Dooley
  • As long as we are making progress it is still worth looking at

TOPIC 3: Council of Post Secondary Education

  • RI Post-Secondary Councel comes to URI a few times on Wednesdays at 6pm

TOPIC 4: Elections Day

  • Chair Straube knows someone who may “have a way to get elections day off for URI students”

Extra:

  • “Rite Aid is literally CVS, but different”
  • Can Gage’s Dad really donate school supplies from Rite Aid?
  • Senator Newbury taking a lead the school supply donation project
  • Final exam rights need to be dome before 2 weeks before finals, probably in November
