- Discussion about next semester’s meeting times: Tuesday at 5pm

- Off-Campus Housing Flyer- top 10 suggestions for living off campus. (to be printed in style of check list)
- Know who you’re living with
- Talk to present tenants
- Review lease carefully, with parents and landlord
- DO THE DAMAGE LIST + Pictures* or video (VERY VERY HELPFUL)
- If you notice damages throughout the year, tell your landlord (eg: a rip in couch gets bigger, etc.)
- Go over budget/payment options (do you want to pay monthly, semesterly?)
- KNOW YOUR RIGHTS (review Tenant Handbook)
- Pet Policies (in lease usually)
- Set up Utilities (determine distribution of utilities, make sure party is responsible)- figure out if it’s heat, oil, natural gas, know your budget.
- Chose location wisely (scarborough, bonnet, pier), estimate commute time before classes start
o Determine transportation methods (personal car, bus, etc. )
o Bus routes available at www.ripta.com
- WHEN YOU MOVE IN:
o Damage list asap!!! (See above)
o GET TO KNOW YOUR NEIGHBORS (Especially residential) Give them your cell phone number, etc.
- Help them with their driveway during winter, etc. (They’ll like you and wont call the police on you!)
- BE SMART WHEN HAVING SOCIAL GATHERINGS!! Refer to Narragansett town laws (insert link here)
- Narragansett now has a recycling program
- Setting up meeting with lawyer
