WRIU General Manager

A presidential role. Deals with the everyday operations of the organizations like setting the budgets, setting important dates, planning events like Radio-thon, and any general responsibility of the organization. The organization is a student-run radio station. It has 150 DJs associated with the organization. They provide a service to Kingston and the surrounding area but also getting students involved and experience in media. General manager as a minimum of 2 office hours a week. Elections held to our standards. Gave documentation of their position from past semester.

FM Program Director

Main job is to recruit talent, train the new members, and to discipline the members if they aren’t abiding by the rules of the organization. Also, they, keep in contact with the members of the organization by letting them know when there are meetings, updates to the rules, and important dates. Elections held to our standards. Assistant GM

Takes the minutes for the general meetings to keep on record. They distribute them to the rest of the council. Also, allows people to enter the building and distributes key cards so the members are able to get into the building. They would assume presidential responsibilities given the general managers wouldn’t be able to perform them properly. Also helps the general manager with his responsibilities as well. Chief engineer

They maintain the equipment and keep it all updated to the FCC regulations. They are in charge of the storage of this equipment as well. Their job also includes taking inventory throughout the semester to make sure all the necessary equipment is functioning. They fix connection problems during a live broadcast. Currently training other members to eventually assume their responsibilities. Gave documentation from past semester. Elected to our standards. Minimum of two office hours a week.

FM Sports director

They run team 15 members and trains them to become proficient in live broadcasting. Creates and manages schedules. They send weekly emails informing them of when broadcasts will be. They organize flights, hotels, and other details when traveling is necessary. In charge of covering and broadcasting football, basketball, ice hockey, and baseball. Also, schedules monthly meetings. Gave documentation from past semesters. Was elected to our standards. Minimum of two office hours a week.

RIU2 sports director

In charge of the online section of this organization. Their job is to get students to prepare for being on FM dial. Gives student critiques to make them better. Teaches students how to use all of the equipment. Provides them with information about broadcasting and the organization to the newly training members. Also, creates schedules. Handles communication between broadcasters. Provided documentation of past semesters of their position. Minimum of two office hours per week. Elected to our standards.

PR/Marketing

Focusing on mostly social media. Promotes games and sporting events on campus to URI students and the surrounding community. Came up with designs for t-shirts for their events and other promotional items for their organization. Sends emails regarding info about sporting events or when they will be broadcasting a sporting event. Tries to keep relationships with the crowd to keep them informed about what is happening. RIU2 program director

Main job is to recruit new members, trains them for the online aspect of the organization only. Also, is involved in creating schedules. Take care of new members by letting them know when meetings are and when special events are. They also discipline the new members when they don’t abide by the rules of the organization. Is in charge of all finance operations. Oversee the organizations accounts. Pays the bills and gets updates on all purchases that are made. They create yearly budgets for the organization. Production manager

Works behind the scenes. Works with many different organizations associated with URI and to announce their upcoming events to spread awareness and to keep the URI students informed. Also interview local musicians and record their songs that would be aired Sunday evenings so that listeners in the area can have new music. This gives exposure to local talent.
