Rhody F1rst is a student-led organization at the University of Rhode Island (URI) dedicated to supporting, empowering, and celebrating first-generation college students. As the university’s first organization created by and for first-gen students, Rhody F1rst serves as a vibrant community where students who are the first in their families to attend college can connect, share experiences, and thrive together.

Our mission is to provide peer support, mentorship, and advocacy that helps first-gen students navigate the college experience with confidence. Through workshops, social events, resource-sharing, and campus collaborations, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and ensure every first-gen student has the tools and community they need to succeed.
