The University of Rhode Island’s First-Year Experience Program (FYE) supports students as they transition to college and build a strong foundation for success. FYE is more than a single program or course. It is a coordinated network of opportunities that help students feel connected, confident, and supported during their first year. Through First-Year Seminar courses, Phi Eta Sigma First-Year Honors Society, and Rhody F1rst, a multicultural student organization for first-generation college students, FYE creates meaningful spaces for learning, leadership, and community. These experiences help students explore their goals and identities, build meaningful relationships, and develop the skills needed to thrive at URI and beyond.
