Transfer Student Success is committed to helping transfer students feel informed, supported, and connected at URI. This page brings together opportunities to build community, join transfer-focused organizations, explore leadership, and celebrate transfer student achievement.
Incoming Transfer Students Can Help Shape TSA
The Transfer Student Organization (TSA) is growing, and incoming transfer students are encouraged to take an active role. This is an opportunity to help shape TSA to meet transfer students’ needs most.
Students interested in events, communications, peer connection, outreach, social activities, welcoming new transfer students, or helping other transfers find support are encouraged to get involved. Current transfer students are also welcome to express interest in leadership and ambassador roles.
Possible leadership areas include:
- Events and social activities
- Communications and promotion
- Peer connection
- URInvolved outreach
- Welcoming new transfer students
- Transfer Success Ambassador support
- Tau Sigma connection
- Academic and career resource sharing
Use URInvolved
URInvolved is where URI students find organizations, events, and involvement opportunities. Start by joining the Transfer Student Association, then explore other groups connected to your interests, major, identity, or career goals.
Not sure where to start? Join TSA first. It is built for transfer students and is a strong first step toward connection, leadership, and campus involvement.

ACADEMIC ENHANCEMENT CENTER CAREER AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING FANNON INSTITUTE FOR STUDENT SUCCESSFrom The Assistant Director:

Transfer students bring valuable experience, perspective, and momentum to URI. I know the transition can be exciting, confusing, and sometimes frustrating — often all at once. Getting connected early can make URI feel more familiar and easier to navigate.
I have spent more than 15 years at URI in several roles, including faculty member, academic advisor, student organization advisor, and campus leader. In those roles, I have worked with many students who were trying to figure out where to start, who to ask, or what to do next.
If you feel stuck, start here. I may not always be the final answer, but I can usually help you identify the next step, ask the right question, or connect with the right person.
If you are interested in joining the Transfer Student Association or serving in a leadership role, please reach out. Incoming and current transfer students are welcome to get involved, share ideas, and help shape the transfer student experience at URI.
Please include your 9-digit URI ID and a short note about your interest or question so I can help connect you with the right next step.
