Welcome and Next Steps

We are excited to have you join our community and register for courses. Please review the following information:

1) SET-UP ALL OF YOUR URI ACCOUNTS so that you can access the University’s services. Follow the instructions included in the link above to set up your e-Campus account. For most students, 1-2 business days after you pay your deposit and register for an e-Campus account, your Single Sign On (SSO) and email accounts will be active. Two days after creating your e-Campus account, set-up your SSO password using this link. Contact the ITS Service Desk if you have questions or need assistance.

2) ACADEMIC ADVISING: Next, you should contact your URI academic advisor. Beginning April 16, you may start to register for Fall 2025 courses. Once you have set-up your SSO, please make an advising appointment using Starfish as soon as possible to prepare for course registration. Additional advising information can be found at https://web.uri.edu/transfer/advising-contacts/. If you need assistance scheduling your appointment, please call our reception at 401.874.2993.

John Rooney, Assistant Director of Transfer Student Success can be reached at rooney@uri.edu with other inquiries. Please include your URI ID number. Email often the best way for us to initially assist you. URI offers a URI101 course specifically for transfer students. While this may be optional for transfer students, you may want to discuss it with your academic advisor.

3) REVIEW the Rhode to Becoming a Ram website and the URI Student Gateway Pages which includes checklists and resources.

4) COMPLETE THE HOUSING APPLICATION: We do offer housing for our transfer students on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to complete your housing application as soon as you can. While we’re happy to match you with a roommate, you have the option to indicate your preferred roommate when completing the application. If you have questions about housing, please contact Housing and Residential Life by using the chat feature in the MyHousing app, calling 401-874-4151, or by sending an email.

5) TRANSFER ORIENTATION: You can also register now for Transfer Orientation, which is happening June 18, 2025. Transfer orientation is an opportunity to finalize your class schedule, connect with support departments, enjoy a campus tour, and more!
