Phi Eta Sigma (PES) is the nation’s oldest and largest honor society for first-year students in all disciplines who earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher in their first semester.

New PES Members

Lifetime Membership Fees:

There is a $50 fee for a lifetime membership. Please submit payment to the Office of New Student Programs, Room 252, Roosevelt Hall. We accept cash and checks made out to “University of Rhode Island”.

Induction Ceremony

All invited members are asked to join us at the annual Phi Eta Sigma Induction Ceremony, which is usually held in late March. At the induction ceremony, all inductees will receive their certificate of membership and Phi Eta Sigma pin.

PES Honor Cords

Students who were inducted into PES after their first-semester at URI can obtain a PES honor cord for graduation in Roosevelt Room 252. The price of the cord is $11.
