Opened in 1966, Ellery is named after William Ellery (1727-1820), signer of the United States Declaration of Independence and 23rd Chief Justice of the Rhode Island Supreme Court.
The building is arranged as three towers, with semi-private communities on each floor. It is more commonly recognized as one of the six balcony buildings in the Roger Williams Complex surrounding Anna Fascitelli Fitness & Wellness Center. Ellery is also home to the Gender Education and Leadership Studies (GELS) Community.
Residents who live here are primarily sophomores and are expected to clean their own bathrooms.
There are no kitchens in the rooms, so a meal plan is required.
