The Department of Housing and Residential Life (HRL) manages approximately 6,300 students living in 24 undergraduate residence halls, three undergraduate apartment complexes, and one graduate apartment complex. Housing options for first-year residents include a 14 Living and Learning Communities.

Public Safety is a top concern for URI, and HRL works closely with campus police and the emergency medical response team to ensure the safety of all residents. Our staff conducts fire drills and fire safety inspections of residence halls twice each semeter.
