Biography

I am a fourth year PhD student in English, specializing in the British modernist novel, the politics of form, and affect studies. I’m writing her dissertation on charm as both critique and pointed aesthetic circulating among female modernists. The Humanities allows just such a discussion to occur – an everyday term, “charming” can be unpacked to reveal a host of political, social, and cultural assumptions. I’m passionate about the Humanities as a vital discipline, and happy to be serving on the Advisory Board!
