Brian Cardany is the associate director of bands at the University of Rhode Island where he conducts the Concert Band and URI Alumni Wind Ensemble, directs the athletic bands, and teaches courses in music education.

Cardany is also the conductor and music director for the American Band of Providence, one of the finest adult community bands in New England as well as one of the oldest bands in the country (established in 1837). Cardany is an active guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator. In addition to regular engagements in New England, he has been invited to guest conduct ensembles in New York, Maryland, Arizona, and California (Humboldt State University).
