Our Mission

The New England Onsite Wastewater Training Program (NEOWTP) mission is to educate the public and wastewater practitioners on onsite wastewater systems, advance the use of conventional and innovative and alternative technologies to improve and protect public health and water quality, and to encourage sustainable development in the New England region.

URI Water Quality Program

Together, the NEOWTP, URI Watershed Watch,  RI NEMO, and URI Home*A*Syst comprise the URI Cooperative Extension Water Quality Program within the Department of Natural Resources Science, helping to protect RI water resources and drinking water. Our programs are further supported by the Environmental Data Center and URI Watershed Hydrology Laboratory.
