Pawtucket is a city in the northeastern part of Providence County. In 1981, McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket was the venue for the longest professional baseball game ever played, 33 innings. Pawtucket is also considered the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution, as it contains the site of Slater Mill, the first fully-mechanized cotton mill in the United States.
