Biography

Angela Miller joins URI from Northeastern University, where she was Senior Accountant for seven years and then Associate Controller for eighteen years. Over the course of her career at Northeastern, Miller has been responsible for daily cash flow, data control, preparation of annual financial statements, management of the university’s $600 million endowment, loan and collections, tax policy compliance, tax filing preparation, 403(b) and Uniform Guidance audits, financial reporting to senior leadership, internal controls, and all aspects of the year end audit. She also led the reorganization of the in-house loans and collections department, which included a strengthened and continued collaboration with student financial services. Prior to Northeastern, Miller was an Internal Auditor at Yale University in New Haven and a Staff Auditor for Coopers & Lybrand in Hartford, Connecticut. In addition to her duties as Associate Controller, Miller has taught undergraduate courses as well as online MBA courses at Northeastern since 2014. Miller holds an MBA from Northeastern University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island.
