Project:
AI Tools in Student Learning Analysis

With the rapid rise of artificial intelligence, students are increasingly adopting AI tools into their academic routine. My project sought to determine what AI tools students use, how they use these tools, and overall sentiment regarding their integration into school settings. I designed and administered a survey through Google Forms and analyzed the survey results using Python for data preprocessing and analysis. What I found demonstrated various patterns in how students apply AI tools to their learning methods and introduces new, relevant questions about its purpose in higher education.

“The A&S Fellowship gave me an opportunity to apply Data Science skills, particularly in programming and analysis. I felt a strong sense of reward translating raw data into insights that were a reflection of real student experience. Most importantly, I value the strong network this project allowed me to experience with faculty and students that are similarly passionate about the intersection between technology and education. It became a motivating factor for me to expand my leadership and research opportunities on campus.” – Callum Magarian ’25
