Research Project
Updated data and tables in an existing manuscript co-authored by her faculty mentor that examines the recent use of primary data sources in economics research. Paige mined articles published between 2011 and 2017 in ten leading peer-reviewed economics journals to determine the frequency and use of different types of primary data. She then compared the types of primary data that articles published in mainstream journals utilize, vis-à-vis heterodox journals.

“The fellowship was a valuable experience for me to see how data is collected, the methodology behind all of the variables I looked at, and just how large data sets are! I enjoyed the work I did, and it gave me a chance to look at prominent economics publications to see where my own research interests might be for grad school.”
