Research Project
Emily’s fellowship focused on Rhode Island’s maritime trade industry in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Using document analysis forms developed by the National Archives, she read, identified, transcribed, and analyzed documents in order to explore challenges associated with global trade and the economy in that time period.
